In Exodus 14, we find the Israelites at the edge of the Red Sea, an insurmountable barrier before them and the threat of Pharaoh's army behind. At this pivotal moment, faced with the impossible, a divine intervention parts the waters, providing a path to salvation. This story is a powerful metaphor for our own lives when we find ourselves caught in seemingly impossible situations. May we find strength to face our adversities with the assurance that with God, no obstacle is too great.Recorded November 12th, 2023Message by Pastor Tim WardScripture: Exodus 14:1-15, 21-31

This isn't merely a historical observance but a multilayered tradition filled with symbolism and meaning. It heralds the sanctuary found in God's all-encompassing protection, a refuge offering solace to every believer. The ritual of the Passover supper, repeated with reverence, reminds us of the enduring covenant with God, the sustenance He bestows, and the solidarity of faith that unites us. Pharaoh's hardened heart sets the stage for monumental events that ripple through history, teaching us invaluable lessons about spiritual rigidity and divine purpose. Through the eyes of Moses and Aaron, experience the unfathomable power of God's commands and His determination to see His will fulfilled, despite human obstinance.
In a world where pride and self-centeredness can seal our hearts, learn what it means to remain pliable in the hands of the Creator. Pastor Tim will unravel how a hardened heart doesn't only lead to personal downfall but can echo consequences in the lives around and beyond us.

Lord Over All

Sunday Oct 15, 2023

Sunday Oct 15, 2023

Discover how the Almighty disassembled Egypt's pantheon, not through random acts of vengeance but through meticulously targeted plagues, each a declaration and a challenge to the false security derived from the idols of the era. The catastrophes that befell Egypt serve as a mirror, reflecting our own follies in the idols we, perhaps unknowingly, worship today — be they materialism, ego, or power.

In this episode, we explore Psalm 84 and the longing to be in the presence of God that it portrays. We discuss the beauty around us that reminds us of God's dwelling place and the deep desire expressed in the psalm to be in God's presence. We reflect on the brokenness of the world, which strengthens our longing. The psalms give voice to our hopes and difficulties when we struggle to find the words ourselves. We analyze the journey towards God's dwelling place and emphasize the importance of community in this journey. Being in God's presence means receiving something good from Him, and God longs for us to be in His presence. We call upon God in prayer, expressing our preference to be in His presence rather than dwell in wickedness. The pilgrim in the psalm seeks and prays for God's presence, yearning for the blessings and security it brings. They recognize that this journey can happen in their own heart and life, where they can talk to God and experience His presence every day.

Fire of God

Monday Sep 18, 2023

Monday Sep 18, 2023

Turning our attention to the biblical narrative in 1 Kings, we examine the characters of King Ahab and the prophet Elijah. Ahab's disobedience and idolatry led to a drought that affected the entire land, while Elijah fearlessly confronted him with a message from God.
We then shift our focus to the dramatic showdown between Elijah and the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. The challenge is set - to call on their respective gods to ignite the wood on the altar without any physical aid. As the prophets of Baal fail to receive a response, Elijah rebuilds an old altar and drenches it in water before calling on the Lord.
In a breathtaking moment, the fire of God descends and consumes not only the sacrifice but also the stones, dust, and water. We reflect on the consuming fire as a symbol of God's power to burn away our sins, purify our hearts, and reveal Himself as the one true God.
As we discuss the impact of this consuming fire, we consider how the material possessions and concerns of life can also consume us if not kept in perspective. Just like the Israelites who fell on their faces and acknowledged the Lord as God when they witnessed His consuming fire, we too are reminded of the importance of surrendering to His all-consuming presence.

Called by God

Sunday Sep 10, 2023

Sunday Sep 10, 2023

Today, we delve into Exodus, witnessing God's mercy as He rescues the Israelites despite their sins. Often, we complain about hardships, yet fear change. Like Moses, saved by compassion and chosen by God, we must heed His call. Remember, God doesn't seek the qualified; He qualifies the called. America faces challenges, mirroring ancient Israel. As hardships loom, ask: where is God calling you?
